- NaGISA attended the Outreach and Education Liaisons Meeting in
Washington DC at CoML Headquarters. It was made obvious that we have a
long way to go but are capable of doing it Timeline. (May, 2002)
- Preliminary sampling conducted in Alaska. (Aug, 2002)

September-December
- The second joint CoML.jp /NaGISA meeting held in Hakodate. Under
discussion was the Outreach Program, Summer School and Hiring of Staff.

- Sampling was completed in the Japanese sites of 1) Akkeshi 2)
Shirahama 3) Takeno and In Malaysia 1) Langkawi. (Sep, 2002)
- THAILAND joins NaGISA. (Oct, 2002)
- NaGISA held it's first classes at the Phuket Marine Biological
