Dr. P. Robin Rigby

1977-2007

It is with deepest regret that we report the tragic and untimely death of our colleague Dr. P. Robin Rigby following a vehicle accident on December 9 at 10:10 am (Japanese local time) in Kushimoto, not far from her home in Shirahama, Japan.

Her funeral was held in a ceremonial hall in Tanabe city with about 100 people in attendance, consisting mainly of her family, staff of the Seto Marine Biological Laboratory of Kyoto University (where she worked), members of Prof. Sakurai's laboratory in Hokkaido University (where she received her doctorate), and colleagues of her husband Kohta Asamidori.

As overall co-ordinator of NaGISA, Robin's enthusiasm and energetic leadership played a pivotal role in making this organization a success. She leaves behind a large void and will be greatly missed by her many friends and co-workers. A tribute to Robin's diverse and accomplished life will be forthcoming in the near future.
