The Western Pacific Region (WPac)
Under the leadership of Prof. Yoshihisa Shirayama the WPac Center is in charge of NaGISA`s Western Pacific sites from Vostok in Russia down to East Kalimantan in Indonesia and hopes to expand in to Australia. The center shares office space with the International headquarters at Seto Marine Biological Laboratory of the Field Science and Education Center in Kyoto University.
The center is very active in education and outreach and has organized a number of meetings and workshops along that theme including protocol training activities with high school and university students. NaGISA sites in the Western Pacific are shown in the maps below.
